What does it mean to fear the LORD? (Ps. 34:11-14)
>Keep your tongue from evil
>Keep your lips from speaking deceit
>Depart from evil
>Do good
>Seek peace
>Pursue peace
As I have been thinking on these things...I've noticed how important my words are. Matthew 12:34 says "...For the mouth speaks out of that which fills the heart." (nas) It goes on to say in this passage that a good tree brings forth good fruit and a bad tree brings forth bad fruit...a good man brings forth good treasure, and the evil man brings forth bad treasure.
What kind of fruit am I producing and what kind of treasure am I bringing forth?
Lord, I pray that You would give me a heart that fears You! Make the words that come from my mouth be "...pleasant (like) honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones." (Proverbs 16:24)
